Vallerbach
Der Vallerbach ist ein kleiner Fluss, der am Rosskopf entspringt und anschließend in den Eisack mündet. Früher stellte der Bach eine nicht zu unterschätzende Hochwassergefahr dar, welche heutzutage allerdings durch zahlreiche Verbauungen eliminiert wurde. Die Lahnstraße hat ihren Namen ebenfalls von dem Bach, denn die Muren, die der Bach früher auslöste heißen im Südtiroler Dialekt "Lahnen". Da die Straße neben dem Bach gelegen ist und ebenfalls häufig vermurt wurde, hat sie den Namen "Lahnstraße" bekommen.

Rio di Valles
Il Rio di Valles è un piccolo fiume che nasce sul Monte Cavallo e sfocia poi nell' Isarco. In passato il torrente rappresentava un pericolo di inondazione non trascurabile, che oggi è stato però eliminato grazie a numerosi interventi di sistemazione. Anche la Via Frana (Lahnstraße) prende il nome dal torrente, poiché le colate detritiche che il torrente provocava in passato sono chiamate “Lahnen” nel dialetto altoatesino. Poiché la strada si trova accanto al torrente ed era spesso soggetta a colate detritiche, le è stato dato il nome di “Lahnstraße”.

Vallerbach/Rio di Valles
The Vallerbach is a small river that rises at the Rosskopf and flows into the Eisack. In the past, the stream posed a significant flood risk, but this has now been eliminated by numerous engineering measures. The Lahnstraße also takes its name from the stream, as the mudslides that the stream used to cause are called “Lahnen” in the South Tyrolean dialect. Since the road is located next to the stream and was also frequently affected by mudslides, it was given the name “Lahnstraße.”
