*placed w permission from the White House farm foundation who run leopolds preserve*
You'll need a pen, tott to remove logs from containers, and bug spray as all 4 of these are in wooded areas off the trails. Minor toys in the final cache. Some room to add some. Please try to leave containers in a manner that will keep logs safe and dry. Enjoy the walk. I traversed the big cement underground pipe between stage 3 and the final. Hadn't done that since i was a kid. Can go up and over if you'd prefer.
have fun!

Story:
Long ago, before he became the mighty ruler of Atlantis, Aquaman was just a young Scout like you — hiking, camping, and earning his badges one adventure at a time. He learned early that “A Scout is always prepared”… and today, those skills are about to be tested.
The oceans are restless. Somewhere in this nature preserve lies an ancient Atlantean lockbox containing the lost “Trident of Tides.” To open it, you must track down four legendary sea creatures who swam up into these woods during a great flood centuries ago. Aquaman left you clues — but beware: the path winds through forests, hills, and hidden waterways.
Stage 1 — Mosasaurus, the River King
🐊
On a fallen tree just off the trail, a massive Mosasaurus skeleton marks the first waypoint.
Fun Fact: The Mosasaurus wasn’t a dinosaur — it was actually a giant marine lizard that could grow over 50 feet long and had double-hinged jaws, allowing it to swallow prey whole!
Aquaman once studied these beasts as a Scout. Legend says this one swam up ancient rivers, chasing prey, until it became stranded here long ago. Look closely around its remains… it guards your first clue.
Stage 2 — The Great White Guardian
🦈
Deeper in the woods, a giant toppled tree leans like a bridge — and there, clinging to the trunk, is a Great White Shark marker.
Fun Fact: Great Whites can detect a single drop of blood in 25 gallons of water and sense heartbeats from several feet away using special electroreceptors!
In the flood, this shark followed the Mosasaurus, thinking it would be an easy meal. But it became trapped when the waters receded, frozen in time atop the tree. Aquaman believes it protects the second piece of the trident’s code.
Stage 3 — The Anglerfish of the Creek
🐟
Near the storm drain creek, in the shadows above the water, lurks the Anglerfish marker.
Fun Fact: The Anglerfish uses a built-in “fishing rod” — a glowing lure on its head to attract prey in the deep, dark ocean.
Scouts say if you pass quietly, you can still see its eerie light at night. Follow the creek carefully — the next clue is hidden where the Anglerfish waits.
Stage 4 — The Lockbox of Atlantis
🔒
Finally, climb the hill where the storm drain winds beneath you. At the top, hidden away, is the Atlantean lockbox. To open it, you’ll need every secret gathered from the ocean guardians.
Fun Fact: Legend has it Aquaman earned his “Master Scout” badge by unlocking this very box… but only after tracking all four creatures and proving his worth.
If you succeed, you’ll complete the path Aquaman once walked, unlocking the trident’s power and becoming an Honorary Scout of the Seven Seas. 🌊
