The Tammany Trace Bridge over the Bogue Falaya River is one of the most symbolic landmarks in Covington. People have been jumping off this bridge into the water below for years, while paddlers stop on the sandy shores below the bridge for a respite. Many cyclists ride the Tammany Trace over the bridge, which is a converted rail line between Covington and Slidell, running through Abita Springs, Mandeville, Lacombe, and Fontainebleau State Park.
