Eestis algas 1925 aastal vääriskarusloomade kasvatus. Audrusse rajati 1959 aastal karusloomakasvatus. Kogupindalaks 44 ha. Aastaid kasvatati seal rebaseid, kuid ettevõte kannatas kahjumi all. Loomasöötade hinnad olid kõrged, töötajaid soovisid kõrgemat palka, karusnaha-farmidele jõustusid Euroopa Liidu uued nõuded, mille täitmiseks oleks Audru rebasekasvandusel tarvis vähemalt 10 miljoni krooni suurust rahasüsti. Lisaks rajati farmi ümber elurajoonid ning elanikke häiris kasvanduse ebameeldivad aroomid, loomakaitsjad ütlesid sekka paar "ilusat" sõna. Peale selle tabas rebasekutsikaid suremus, kari haigustus, ...
2008 aastal likvideeriti rebasefarm, 42 töötajat koondati ja hooned lammutati 2017 aastal.
Nüüdseks on asemele ehitatud elumajad ja elu läheb edasi. Kadunud on ebameeldivad aroomid, asemele tulnud grillimise lõhnad (loodetavasti ei grillita rebaseid), inimesed on rajanud oma imekaunid aiad lõhnavate lilledega.

In Estonia, the breeding of valuable fur animals began in 1925. A fur farm was established in Audru in 1959. The total area was 44 ha. Foxes were bred there for years, but the company suffered losses. Animal feed prices were high, employees wanted higher wages, new European Union requirements for fur farms came into effect, to meet which the Audru fox farm would need a cash injection of at least 10 million kroons. In addition, residential areas were built around the farm and the unpleasant aromas from the farm disturbed the residents, animal rights activists said a few "nice" words. In addition, fox cubs suffered mortality, the herd became ill, ...
In 2008, the fox farm was liquidated, 42 employees were laid off and the buildings were demolished in 2017.
Now, residential buildings have been built in their place and life goes on. The unpleasant aromas have disappeared, replaced by the smells of grilling (hopefully, foxes are not being grilled), and people have created their own beautiful gardens with fragrant flowers.
