Woodridge is one of the oldest areas in Logan, and having a rich history dating back to the early 1900s, with roots in timber and farming.
But Woodridge tends to evoke mixed opinions depending on what people are looking for. Around 13,000 people live there, with a growing young population—predominantly families with children (hence the many schools). Woodridge is known for being one of the more affordable suburbs in the Brisbane-Logan corridor, making it attractive to first-home buyers and investors, with rentals yielding some solid rental returns, especially for units. Many residents work in labour-intensive jobs, and household incomes are generally lower than the national average.
Woodridge is central: offering easy access to Brisbane and surrounding areas as it is well-serviced by train and bus routes, and is in close proximity to the major corridors of the M1 and the Logan Motorway.
Some locals appreciate the community vibe and affordability, while others point to concerns about crime and socioeconomic challenges. But as with any locality, if you want to get to know it, it’s worth visiting in person to get a feel for the area.
