This event is in association with TREES FOR GUELPH, who is co-hosting three Saturday morning community planting days with the City of Guelph Natural Areas Stewardship Group.
Check in with me at the posted coordinates and I will direct you where to go to get started with the planting.
Although this CITO event runs from 9:30-10:30, the actual city event will continue until 12:30pm. You are welcome to stay on and keep planting!
When in the park, observe a planting demonstration to ensure your plants thrive.
The City of Guelph will provide shovels and buckets and is bringing the water for the plants, mulch, and ten to fifteen different species of native trees and shrubs. We hope there will be 600 empty pots when we are all done.
Dress in layers, bring your own full re-fillable water bottle and your gardening gloves. Remember: there is no such thing as bad weather, just not the right clothing. We will be planting rain or shine.
This event will also qualify high school students for their community volunteer hours (just register at the city's official welcome table when you arrive).
