Geocache Description:

Solley's Cove Park gets its named from the Thomas Solley family which lived on a farm that consisted of approximately 104 acres where the community of Tanyard Springs off of Marley Neck Blvd. is now located. The flat sandy land made it easy for the cultivation of fruit trees and peach orchards during the 19th and into the 20th century.

The area became known as Solley when a post office was established in 1898. There is still a small family cemetery located within the Tanyard Springs Community.

If you're looking for a spot to launch your watercraft and venture out to the Marley Creek and Tanyard Cove caches, this is the perfect place to start. This is one of my favorite spots to ride my bike and just take in the natural beauty all around. You can often spot heron, geese, ducks, ospreys, and hawks fishing along the banks of the creek.
