Ullaste karjamõis oli Sauga peamõisa alla kuuluv põllumajanduslik kõrvalkeskus. Sauga mõis oli arvatavasti rajatud 1238.aastal Saksa Ordu Liivimaa haru ja Saare- Lääne piiskopi koostöölepingu tulemusel.
Eesti Vabariigi alguseks oli Sauga mõisast eraldatud 6 autonoomset majandusüksust, nende seas ka Ullaste karjamõis, kuhu on aare peidetud.
Tänaseks on karjamõisast säilinud peahoone ja ait.

Ullaste pastoral manor was an agricultural subsidiary center under the main Sauga manor. Sauga manor was probably founded in 1238 as a result of a cooperation agreement between the Livonian branch of the Teutonic Order and the bishop of Saare-Lääne.
By the beginning of the Republic of Estonia, 6 autonomous economic units had been separated from Sauga manor, including Ullaste pastoral manor, where the treasure is hidden.
Today, the main building and barn of the pastoral manor have survived.
