16th Oct - Nurturing Netheridge Nature Reserve
The session is set for 3 hours, but only me and the ranger have to stay till the end!
Please do feel free to pop along and only stay for as long as you want.
Parking: The headline coordinates can have up to 4 cars and then there is more at the other suggested waypoint.
Where: Find us at suggested parking 1 coords for 1300, or make your way to the Reference waypoint and turn either left or right depending on my announcement to get to GZ.
What: There are plenty of things to do, we could be pulling reeds out of a pond, cutting back willow or clearing trails.
How: The warden will be there providing guidance. We ask you to bring your own gloves and if you have them tools, so if you have loppers, shears and a saw please do bring them along. Don't worry if you don't have them as the warden will have a supply too, but we will need you to log that you require tools.
If it has recently rained the site does tend to hold water and so wellies are advised.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Gloucester County Council insurance as long as you are working under the warden's instruction.
Dogs: This is a nature reserve with Swan's nesting on the pond, in addition to wild deer roaming the area. If your dogs are reactive to wildlife then they unfortunately are not able to come to this site.
Lastly please make sure you bring along your own refreshments, it can be thirsty work!
