World Postcard Day is an annual global celebration on October 1 that encourages people to send and receive postcards to spread joy, connect with others, and support local communities and causes. The day was created in 2019 to mark the 150th anniversary of the postcard's invention, promoting the beauty of handwritten messages and fostering communication worldwide. In honor of World Postcard Day, geocachers can earn a souvenir by attending any geocaching event from September 28 to October 4, 2025.Â
We’ll meet at Sonic at the shaded picnic tables. A purchase is not required to attend and a parking waypoint has been provided. Attendees will have the opportunity to fill out a postcard (participation is optional) that I’ll mail to Geocaching HQ as part of the celebration. I’ll have blank postcards, writing utensils and will mail them out for everyone. You are not required to attend the event the entire time; feel free to say hi, fill out a postcard, and I will do the rest!
