Before you head up Adirondack Loj Road, take a moment to stop. This road is more than just a turnoff from Route 73; it’s the starting line for countless adventures into the Adirondack High Peaks.
Adirondack Loj Road leads to Heart Lake and the Adirondack Loj, the historic base operated by the Adirondack Mountain Club. From there, trails branch out to some of the tallest and most iconic peaks in New York State, including Mount Marcy (the state’s highest point), Algonquin, Wright, and Phelps. Thousands of hikers begin their High Peaks journeys right at the end of this road.
