A series of caches hightlighting rock'n'roll artists.
The band Santana was founded in 1966 by Mexican-born guitartist Carlos Santana. Their big break was their memorable performance at Woodstock in 1969. Their signature sound was a fusion of American rock and Latin jazz. Since I was a little kid I was amazed at how emotional Carlos's guitar sounded, as if it was a living thing. Carlos is also credited with giving musicians a chance and helping to boost their careers, musicians who went on to stardom. Santana (the band) had a slew of major hits like Black Magic Woman, Evil Ways, Smooth and Oye Como Va. Their classic line-up was Carlos Santana on guitar, Gregg Rolie on keyboards and lead vocals, Jose "Chepito" Areas and Michael Carabello on percussion, David Brown on bass guitar and Michael Shrieve on drums.
