… leto 1220.
A meščanom to ni prineslo olajšanja. Veronika vstaja izpod Malega gradu in s svojimi čarovniškimi močmi in temnimi silami prinaša nesrečo, bolezen, smrt.
Hitro so skovali načrt. Če hočemo obvarovati mesto in ljudi, moramo Veroniko poškropiti z blagoslovljeno vodo.
In res.

Near Kamnik, by Zaprice Castle, there is a place even the locals do not know about. Only there, when the stars are arranged in exactly the right way, does a portal open that allows travel through time. It must be right around here… do you feel dizzy, are lights flashing before your eyes, do you feel strange? Maybe you have just traveled into the past… the year 1220.
Medieval Kamnik, after centuries of obscurity, has appeared in all its glory and lives under the protection of the Old Castle and the Small Castle. The town is a thriving craft center with a mint and home to many well-known families. But a curse hangs over it — it is only a question of time before it strikes and turns the place to dust and ashes. That curse is Countess Veronika: immeasurably beautiful, yet arrogant and stingy.
When three brothers, who had become priests and wished to offer their first mass in the new church above the town center, ran out of money during construction, they, with heavy hearts, turned to Veronika for help. Instead of helping them, she cursed them: “Off with you, beggars! I’d sooner turn into a serpent at that well than give a single silver coin for your empty work!” The heavens of justice heard the curse and Veronika began to change into half-woman, half-serpent; the earth opened beneath her and swallowed her into its depths.
But this did not bring relief to the townspeople. Veronika rises beneath the Small Castle and, with her witchy powers and dark forces, brings misfortune, disease, death. It’s as if not only Veronika were cursed, but the whole town with her. Who then can help the townspeople, who can free them from this curse?
In despair the town elders fled to Zaprice Castle to consult on what to do. As they were arguing whether to fight the dark forces or to flee as far as they could with everything they had, something flashed. A storm on a clear day? When they dared to open their eyes, an oddly dressed stranger stood before them. Is this help from the heavens? “Where do you come from, stranger?” they asked. “Can you help us?” they pleaded. The stranger stared at them at first, then slowly nodded.
They quickly hatched a plan. If they wanted to save the town and its people, they had to sprinkle Veronika with blessed water. That would dispel the curse and free the town from evil bonds. But there was no hero bold enough to approach her so closely that such a daring plan could succeed. Then a young shepherd pushed through the crowd to the town elders and said: “No one will be able to get close enough to Veronika to sprinkle her with blessed water. But we can use the catapult that stands behind the town wall. We will also need a skilled aimer so the blessed water will hit its mark.” Then the little shepherd pointed at you. “I saw it in my dreams. This stranger will know how to aim the catapult and will hit the target.”
And indeed. You are chosen to take control of the town’s weapon. From the catapult at Zaprice you must aim precisely at the Small Castle. Every shot of blessed water will decide Kamnik’s fate — will the town fall under Veronika’s curse, or will you be the one to drive her down into the depths once and for all?
