...is the theme for the 2025 Geocaching International Film Festival (GIFF) as "we are celebrating 25 years of geocaching while also celebrating the amazing community that has built this game for a quarter century."
In the spirit of celebrating the 25th anniversary of Geocaching, the GIFF event is back! Geocachers from all over the globe have submitted short films to be viewed by other geocachers and voted upon for a winner. At this event, we will meet at the Glenwood Community Centre and view all of these films captured together in one movie to view (the total movie time will be around an hour).
If you attend this event, you will receive a special 2025 GIFF souvenir on your profile for attending! After the movie, you can go onto geocaching's website and vote for your favorite to win.

What is GIFF?
The Geocaching International Film Festival (GIFF) is a global event where geocachers create and share short films about geocaching. It's a way to celebrate the sport and showcase the creativity of the geocaching community. From November 6-16 geocachers will host events (like this one) in which the finalists of these films will be shown publicly.
How long will the GIFF reel take?
While this event lasts 2 hours, the reel itself will last about an hour. We will be starting at 7:20pm
Are the films family friendly?
Yes! Please feel free to bring your entire family of all ages.
What language are the films in?
Dialogue in the films may be in any language, but any dialogue not in English will have English subtitles.
Can I earn a souvenir for this event?
YES! You can earn a souvenir for attending a GIFF event. All you need to do is post an attending log for this event.
Are there geocaches nearby?
Most definitely! If you have not yet been in this area, you will notice quite a bundle of fun caches around the Edmonton area.
