Geocache Description:

On the wild end of the Wildwood trail.

This is the first of what I hope will be many themed caches I would like to place, namely, the Poet-Tree cache. These caches will be distinguished by two things: 1)being in trees, and 2)asking visitors to leave a favorite poem (yours or another's) in the logbook. Poems may be added to the web as I maintain the site. Tree climbing may or may not be required. (It's not needed on this particular cache.)

I ask that visitors please do NOT leave any plastic trinkets in Poet-Tree caches. Such items will be promptly removed. If you are not poetry-inclined, simply enjoy what others have written and log your visit on the web. If it's a longer poem, you may write it out in advance and leave it in the cache.

As tree cover can be dense in here, GPS reception may be Less Than Ideal. Grrrrr, frustrating, I know. If this is the case for you, try the hints in order and I betcha you won't even need your GPS. There's no need to overturn stuff on the ground to find this cache, so walk with care and look around and up.

There is a moderate bushwhack to get to this cache. The terrain can be fragile here. To keep Bigfeets away, try to avoid following any tracks that may develop to this cache - make your own way.

I am sensitive about the potential impacts of off trail travel, but I will keep a good eye on this cache and watch for overuse. If you are not into a mild bushwhack, I suggest you find another cache to visit.

Best parking is at: N45.36.344, W 122.49.421

Enjoy, Johngo
