Let's Get Outdoors #49: Finishing my FIZZY!
Come join me as I celebrate the completion of my Fizzy!
This event is for all the kayakers and canoers in the CVGA and beyond. Your eyes do not decieve you, this event is posted right in the middle of the James River near where the Chippenham Parkway crosses over the river (also known as the Willey Bridge). Turns out there's a cache a few meters away that fills in the very last hole in my Fizzy grid, that being a D2.5/T5.

This event alone is a D1/T5 that some might also be needing for their Fizzy. I'll be heading out from Huguenot Flatwater (waypoint provided) at around 9:30 with the possible goal of heading a little further upstream to try and grab the D5/T5 that's near the cache I plan to wind up at. From what I understand there's a small beach near my target cache that we can sit on for a half hour.
To be fair, this event is completely contingent on weather and river conditions. It could be quite easy to stumble onto a version of either that means we're not going anywhere in boats. If it turns out the river is angry but the weather is good, I'll just pull the event back to Huguenot Flatwater and we'll watch the river rage by. If poor weather arises or any other reason to cancel pops up, I'll likley archive and reschedule. Most liklely, I'll reschedule in the spring because I don't want to push this event into November and us get caught attempting to paddle out on the river on a day where the temps are below 40 degrees.
Many thanks to the CO of the target cache, GoPlay0utside, who took the picture at ground zero while out on a maintenance run in September!
