Ornament cache already? Yes, this is the earliest it's been released. Got an early start making the ornaments. Most of the ones made (about 90) will look something like this one:
A smaller number look slightly different, like the ones with the jade like stones (which were harder to deal with), or plastic ring beads (which I didn't like as much), or smaller beads like the ones below.
This year's ornament: "The Tree Climb". Love them or hate them, we've all come across them. Can I climb it? Should I climb it? Should I get my monkey friend to climb and sign me in? Where's the chain saw?
There are a few different styles this year as I experimented with different types of leaves to put on the branches. I liked the jade like stones the best, but they were the hardest to work with. Most are the plastic "crystal" beads, and a smaller number of round plastic beads that I tried but didn't like as much.
Please, please, please - take only one per caching family! And please only take one for yourself. Don't take one for a friend who couldn't make it to the cache - that really wouldn't be fair. That would put you on Santa's naughty list. There should be enough for everybody who comes within the first couple weeks, this year I've made about 60, but will likely make at most 30 more before Christmas.
Back to the classic location I've used a number of years.
FTF hounds: as usual, this probably has between 10 and 20 signatures in it already, as the ornaments cache gets pre-released to the breakfast crew to be sure they get one. It's a poorly kept secret as many others hear about it as well.
