Professor Huyang's Lessons

Professor Huyang, a Mark IV architect droid, has served the Jedi Order for thousands of years, teaching generations of younglings to construct their own lightsabers. In addition to being a quick wit and an excellent instructor, he's also a marvelous storyteller. Ask him about his own origins and he'll start all the way back in 25,020 BBY when he arrived at the Jedi temple in a big blue box...

Huyang has four lessons for you as you proceed along your journey to become a Jedi Knight.

Lesson 1: Construct Your Lightsaber

Jedi inititates begin their training using practice sabers - shorter in length and less powerful than lightsabers. These help new users develop their technique without risk of harm to life or limb.

Each initiate later constructs their own lightsaber as part of The Gathering, a rite of passage marking the beginning of the next stage of their journey to Knighthood. Professor Huyang guides initiates through the construction process, offering advice as they customize their weapon according to their own individuality.
