The winter solstice occurs for the northern hemisphere, when the Sun is lowest in the sky.
At this time, the Earth's North Pole is pointing away from the Sun
(which is why it is so much colder in the northern hemisphere)
The actual moment of the 2025 winter solstice in the UK will occur at 15:03 UTC (GMT)
so this get together is timed to co-incide with this atronomical event also known
as the beginning of astronomical winter.

I have been organising solstice and equinox events in Seaord for several years
and think it time for someone else to take over and maybe ccme up with some new ideas.
