September 29th is National Coffee Day in the United States, a day when coffee lovers across the country raise a mug to celebrate the drink that keeps the world turning. From the first morning sip that chases away the fog, to the late-night cup that fuels puzzle-solving marathons, coffee is truly the lifeblood of many adventures—including geocaching!
Coffee has a history as rich as its flavor. Legend tells us that an Ethiopian goat herder noticed his flock dancing with energy after nibbling bright red cherries. From that discovery, humanity began roasting, brewing, and refining the process until the humble coffee cherry became the drink we know and love.
Over the centuries, coffeehouses became gathering places where ideas were exchanged, stories were shared, and communities grew stronger. To this day, the familiar sound of a grinder or the hiss of steam from a great machine can still draw people together. Whether you like it hot or iced, bold or mellow, sweetened or straight black, there’s a coffee for everyone.
