Geocache Description:

Welcome to the sacred ground of two-wheeled glory! This geocache is a tribute to the motorcyclists who paved the road for future generations and honors the motorcycle pioneers, innovators, and heroes who changed the world one mile at a time. Four wheels move the body; two wheels move the soul.

After a long motorcycle ride, helmets, jackets, and lunch boxes need stowed, in order to stretch, relax, and get ready for the next ride. Motorcycling legend E. C. Smith helped grow the motorcycling community and would have placed his gear here for safe keeping.

Smith secured his riding gear for long-term storage in December using the starting year that celebrated 100 years of motorcycling.

Sign the notebook, log your find with a motorcycle emoji 🏍️ on the app, swap swag, and check for trackables. This is a great travel bug hotel and swag swap location. Trade or share items to help them ride along!

HISTORY:

E.C. Smith, is a motorcycle hall of famer who advocated for motorcyclists' rights from 1928-1958 and was inducted into the motorcycle hall of fame in 1999; view his biography and photos: https://catalogit.app/collections/64e1ffd0-660f-11ef-8bc7-9f60f0673779/entries/511b8ab0-7c1d-11ef-9dd5-1bf857c61fce

Fun Fact: The first motorcycle predated Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles that grew popular in the 1920's. The Daimler Reitwagen was built in 1885, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daimler_Reitwagen, and is made of wood!
