This Reserve near me was known as Birdwood Vineyard back in days gone by ....It was one ot the largest in New Zealand ., and was developed by Simon Udjur., and played a major part in the wine industry and the Croation Immigrants and pioneers of this area .
Interesting Plaque on a big Rock in Carpark area.....
It currently part of Te Rangi Hiroa Park, and council owned....Hopefully one day they will add paths ,cycleways, tables , toilets etc....that was the plan .The nearby buildings are used by a Model Railway society . They have occassional open days , Also a Darts Club.
On the Birdwood Rd side of the Reserve Is a BMX Club ....
There was a cool , tricky, geocache in the bush strip here years ago placed by the Jacksons
However as it was recently archived, I decided to place a new one here .
