This cache is part of the Northern Virginia Geocaching Organization's 25’ Fall Series, Our Favorite Things. The goal of the series is to get to know some of our geocaching friends a little better by finding caches that showcase their favorite things—aside from geocaching, of course.
Feel free to find as many caches in the series as you'd like, and don't forget to enter 10 of the code words to help you discover the coordinates for the bonus cache. Enjoy the adventure!
One of my favorite Christmas presents as a child was a box containing a Kodak Instamatic camera - the kind that came with the flashcube that attached to the top of the camera - this was the beginning of my love of photography - monies received for high school graduation allowed me to purchase my first Nikon: a Nikon EM, flash, and eventually, zoom lens - during photojournalism classes in college, I learned how to develop film and print black and white photos in a darkroom setting - over the years, the photo subject matter has changed: early pictures ranged from family vacations and historical places, times spent at the beach, class assignments, and wedding photos for friends - these days my focus is concentrated on nature with a little bit of abstraction thrown in now and then -
Now we're in the age of Digital - and although I have another Nikon, isn't it sometimes easier to whip out your cellphone to capture that moment in time?
Now, about the cache: CACHE IS AT POSTED COORDINATES - You are looking for a regular ammo can hidden in the woods of Rockland Park - arriving at the GZ, you will search for a unique log that is a throwback to an earlier time (or for the purists) - a unique writing utensil may be found within the cache to sign the log - once the log has been signed, please be gentle and rewind to the line drawn after the Code Word and so that others may enjoy the fun! SMILE!
Please, absolutely NO Night Caching!
