Welcome to Lake Fairfax Park, where once a small train ran for the enjoyment of kids and kids at heart. Picky and hubby were two of those kids. That train is sadly long gone, but you can see ghostly traces of where it was and you can still enjoy the views (changed though they may be these days).
Daylight ONLY per Fairfax County Park Authority rules.
This is Picky's first-ever actual wherigo build, created with a web-based app. Tested online. May contain a few poltergeists.
You can download the cartridge here:

Container is hidden and slightly camoed, but large enough that it should be easy to find once you arrive at GZ. Room for small swaps or trackables. Please re-close securely and re-hide so it lasts a bit. No worries about muggles except near the hide location - everything else is virtual.
Archival story about the train having trouble:
1979-09-03 'Kiddie' Train Derails at Fairfax Park
Final location selected by NoVAGO picnic-planning committee and approved via them by park management
Permission granted by FCPA
Again, daylight ONLY per Fairfax County Park Authority rules.
All photos are Picky's other than that of the train itself - that ca.1985 pic was found online in one of various "memories of old Reston" type groups and cropped to work for the wherigo.
Found it! Not yet ghostly.

[original note here WAS:
Somewhere in Picky's folks' basement there ought to be a photo of Picky (and possibly Picky's brother) on the train; that has yet to be found. If it ever is, the wherigo and/or this writeup will be updated.]
