Have you ever heard of a “campus dog”?
In many universities in Taiwan, friendly stray dogs are adopted by the campus community. Students and professors often take care of them, feed them, and let them roam freely. They become part of the school’s daily life — attending classes, taking naps in the shade, and greeting visitors.
Guava is a beloved campus dog at the Nanda campus of National Tsing Hua University. Gentle and friendly, he often stays near the entrance, as if watching over the campus. This cache is named “Guava’s Food Bowl” as a tribute to him and to Taiwan’s unique campus dog culture.
🐕 Bonus Encounter
If you happen to see a black dog near the cache, there’s a good chance it’s Guava himself! Please be kind and do not scare him.
📷 If you meet Guava, feel free to take a photo and share it in your log so others can enjoy it too!
💡 Important Notes
-
The cache is NOT inside the campus. Please do not enter the campus to search.
-
There are many “muggles” (non-geocachers) nearby — stay discreet.
-
Bring your own pen to sign the logbook.
-
Handle the container gently and put it back exactly as you found it.
