Geocache Description:


The San Carlos Chickens' Ball was an engaging variety show meant to raise money for arts programs in K-8 schools. It was created in 1940 by teacher Howard J. Demeke, who was looking for a way to raise money for Central School, now called Central Middle School. Central School was grades K-8, and was the only school in the city. The Chickens' Ball was preformed biennially in Mustang Hall, which is the gym you're standing in front of now. Unfortunatly, the Chickens' Ball tradition had to be halted because of Covid 19, and is no longer in operation.

To find this cache, you'll need to use hints from your surroundings.

  • The number of words on the Chickens' Ball sign on the ground that are in front of a dark yellow background + the number of words on the Chicken's Ball sign on the building. Years and email addresses do not count. This two- diget number is A
  • Look to the sign on the building. The number of points on the chicken's crest is number B
  • Solve this equation: (((13*44)^89)/77.8)*0. This is number C
  • Add numbers B and C. This is number D
  • How old is a person when they graduate this school (Central)? Choose the higher age, and add 1 to get number E
  • Solve: 1+1+1+1+1-1-1-1-1-1+1+1+1+1-1-1-1+1. This is number F
  • Look to the nearest street sign (a type of nut). Count the letters in it, but do NOT count the ST in front of the name. Now subtract 2. This is number G
  • Look to the section of the curb painted red. How many points are on the star painted there? This is number H
