Der Kaiserring ist ein international renommierter Kunstpreis, der seit 1975 jährlich von der Stadt Goslar gemeinsam mit dem Verein zur Förderung moderner Kunst Goslar e. V. verliehen wird. Die undotierte Auszeichnung würdigt international herausragende zeitgenössische bildende Künstlerinnen und Künstler, deren Werk der Kunst unserer Zeit wesentliche Impulse verliehen hat.
Als ideelle Ehrung zählt der Kaiserring zu den bedeutendsten Kunstpreisen weltweit. Sein besonderes Renommee verdankt er sowohl der Reihe namhafter Preisträgerinnen und Preisträger als auch der hochkarätig besetzten Fachjury, die sich aus anerkannten Museumsfachleuten und Kunstexpertinnen und -experten zusammensetzt.
Der Ring selbst ist mit einem in Gold gefassten Aquamarin versehen, in den das Siegel Kaiser Heinrichs IV. eingraviert ist.

Über die GeoTour
Goslar vereint auf besondere Weise Geschichte, Landschaft und Technik. Die historische Altstadt, das Erzbergwerk Rammelsberg und das Oberharzer Wasserregal bilden gemeinsam ein einzigartiges Ensemble, das als UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe ausgezeichnet wurde und bis heute die Entwicklung der Region sichtbar macht.
Diese Geotour ist aus der Geocaching-Community heraus entstanden. Sie wurde von engagierten Cacherinnen und Cachern entworfen, entwickelt und getragen – mit dem Ziel, die Besonderheiten Goslars auf abwechslungsreiche Weise erlebbar zu machen und bekannte wie weniger bekannte Orte miteinander zu verbinden. Und unser Maskottchen Adelhard wird dich dabei begleiten.
Goslar ist immer eine Reise Wert, weil hier Treffen sich mehrere.

The Kaiserring is an internationally renowned art prize that has been awarded annually since 1975 by the City of Goslar in cooperation with the Association for the Promotion of Modern Art Goslar (Verein zur Förderung moderner Kunst Goslar e. V.). This non-monetary award honors outstanding contemporary visual artists whose work has made significant contributions to the art of our time.
As an honorary distinction, the Kaiserring is considered one of the most important art prizes in the world. Its particular prestige is due both to the distinguished list of past recipients and to the high-caliber jury, which is composed of respected museum professionals and art experts.
The ring itself features an aquamarine set in gold, engraved with the seal of Emperor Henry IV.

About the GeoTour

This GeoTour originated from the geocaching community. It was designed, developed, and supported by dedicated cachers, with the goal of showcasing Goslar’s special features in an engaging way and connecting both well-known and lesser-known locations.
