Initially, we thought we had submitted this as a Community Celebration Event; unfortunately, it's just a good old event now--due to my misunderstanding on how to submit.
Please join us to meet with some of our fellow geocachers for the fellowship and burgers, although no purchase is necessary.
WHEN: Friday, October 17 ; 12:30 pm- 2:30 pm
Established in 1959. Mr. Hamburger was opened in 1959 by the Lindsey family of Huntsville at 710 11th Street. Opened as a classic American drive-in, customers parked under a canopy and walked to the window to place their order. Famous for being located across from the Walls prison unit in downtown Huntsville, his most popular burger became known as the Killer Burger. Mr. Hamburger operated in this fashion for 46 years until 2005 when after a short break re-opened at 918 11th Street just two blocks away from the original location. Passed down through several families over the years, Mr. Hamburger is still considered to belong to the people of Huntsville. Every effort has been made to re-capture the original flavor that made Mr. Hamburger a staple of newspaper and travel magazine rankings as one of the best hamburger joints in Texas! Now with drive-thru and dine-in service you won't have to eat in your car! (unless you want to for old times sake).
