Halloween stories continue

----

Long before Dominion Valley was built, the land was swampland — damp, wild, and crawling with creatures that thrived in the muck. The most feared among them was the Gator-Man: half-human, half-alligator, with claws sharp enough to carve stone and eyes that glowed yellow in the dark.

The people of Haymarket discovered long ago that they could not defeat him. Instead, they forged a powerful artifact, a relic etched with runes that bound him deep within the sewers beneath Dominion Valley. With the artifact in place, the Gator-Man could not leave — his rage and hunger contained to the shadows below.

But the binding isn’t permanent. The artifact must be checked from time to time, for if it is disturbed, or worse, stolen, the seal will weaken. Should that happen, the Gator-Man would be free to rise again, slithering through drains and manholes, hunting in the night.

Your task is to find the artifact and make sure it is still safe. Touch it, see that it hasn’t been tampered with, and then return it exactly where you found it. Because if you fail… the next sound of rushing water you hear might not just be the sewer. It might be claws, scraping closer
