Von 1945 bis 1973 befand sich hier eine Gärtnerei von Ernst Kahlich. Angebautes Obst und Gemüse wurde in Bautzen verkauft. Im alten Wasserturm wurden Lebensräume für heimische, geschützte Arten geschaffen.
