Join Olympia Surfrider for a
Halloween Eve CITO
Friday, October 31 5:00-6:00pm
Percival Landing Pavilion
Located next to the water on Olympia Ave.
One block west of Columbia St. NW
Halloween costumes of any kind are welcome!!!
Let's help protect the South Sound by joining the Olympia Surfrider Chapter for their annual Halloween cigarette butt cleanup through the streets of downtown Olympia. We'll spend an hour picking up toxic cigarette butts before they get washed into Puget Sound.
Cig butts are the #1 item found on beach cleanups in the world. All the storm drains in downtown Oly lead right to the bay; we want to stop them before they get in the bay and ultimately into the Sound.
We'll meet a few minutes early at the Percival Landing Pavilion, to check in, sign the waiver, get pickers, buckets, and counters, and then head off on different routes.
This is usually a butts-only event, but trash bags will be available for those that wish to grab some trash too. We need to keep the butts separate from trash.
We'll do our part to clean up the Geocaching game board known as Planet Earth and earn the CITO Season 2 souvenir.
Bring family and friends and see how many butts you can all get in just one hour.
Please register for the event here: Surfrider volunteer registration.
Casual, walking, fun and Juju’s ice cream will be offering free scoops to participants.
