MOLE DAY 6:02 OCT 23 ! (6:02 1023)
People have known about and celebrated PI Day since 1988. But I believe that there are other physical constants that also deserve celebrating, hence this event. Mole Day was first celebrated in 1991, but most people are far less familiar with it.
This event celebrates Avagadro's number (NA) and a much maligned and feared number and concept. But as many of you will know it's very close to my heart. Once one gets to know it, one should realise (hopefully) that the fears were unjustified.
A celebratory picture will be taken at the "mole moment" at little after 6pm on Oct 23rd (and one a little later too).
PS : no small, furry, black burrowing creatures that destroy lawns will be involved in any way during the celebration !
Though while on that subject, I was reminded of a comedy sketch by a comedian I recall seeing do this live, in his home town not too far from where I grew up.
