This section of trail runs beside a shorter granite wall that rises abruptly from the forest floor. Though not used for climbing, it shares the same rugged geology as the nearby cliffs favored by technical climbers. The path is narrow and uneven, with roots and stone underfoot. Vegetation clings to cracks in the rock, and the air feels cooler in the shadow of the wall. The larger climbing faces are just ahead, marking the final stretch of the route.
Leominster State Forest is open dawn to dusk.
This geocache was released for The BarterDash game leading up to the Johnny Appleseed GeoFest in October, 2025.
