COME ONE, COME ALL!
After a two year hiatus, the Last Cone Of The Season event returns! The last 2 years, Norm's held their last day of operation for the season on the weekend of Mrs.' Fall Break at school, and we have been taking the kids up to Great Wolf Lodge. This year, Norm's is open one week longer than they have been the last 2 years, so we are able to hold the event again.
Today is the last chance for a frozen treat from Norm's for the season, as it is their last day of operation for the season before the snow flies. It's time to gather one last time here in Fruitport and enjoy some delicious items and a good time with fellow caching friends while wishing for the return of summer.
We'll convene at 2:00 PM, hopefully that will allow those like us who are church goers or those who may have to work (yuck) time to get here, and the event will last until 3:00, or until people are ready to head out.
A couple notes: 1). Anyone unfamiliar with Norm's Ice Cream (Do you live under a rock or something? ;) is advised to order a size smaller than you think you want. 2). Due to it being their last day of operation for the year, some of the treats may be unavailable as they are finishing up their inventory for the season, so don't be too bummed if your favorite treat is out of stock. They have plenty of tasty goodies. In past years they have had everything still on the last day, but you never know. 3). I'm also told that when they run out, they close. If they don't run out, they stay open normal hours.
Plan for any type of weather for the day. We (Team_Olsen) will be going rain or shine for our last treat of the season. One year we did this event, it was 45 degrees with rain and a stiff wind. Another year it was in the high 30s, breezy and a few flakes in the air. Some years it's in the 60s or 70s. Dress accordingly. And one year, Team Peterson honored us by making this event their 10,000th find. Will we have any milestones?
Hope to see everyone out here for some fun, good fellowship with caching friends, some scoops and a smiley! Maybe do a good weather dance if you know one, so the weather is still nice.
