Get ready to embrace the warmth and joy of the holiday season as we gear up for our much-anticipated Christmas Potluck Party!
As per usual, the party will be held on November 29th at Faith River Church (2625 Preston Ave S), this time from 2-5pm. The 16th annual Christmas potluck will continue several traditions:
- Bring a dish! Please bring either an appetizer or a dessert. It doesn't need to be a special Christmas food item, just something you'd like to share with the group. Please note that kitchen access is not a sure thing, particularly the stove/oven, so please keep this in mind when selecting your dish. Let us know in your log what you plan on bringing.
- Bring a donation! Every year we collect food for the Saskatoon Food Bank. Please help us help others. We would also appreciate a small donation to help us pay for the church rental, if your situation allows.
- Bring a gift! We always finish off the night with a Chinese gift exchange. We recommend a gift around the $20-25 range, though some people pay more and others less. It's especially fun with geocaching-related gifts.
- The Spotify Christmas Playlist is back! Christmas is my favourite time of the year, and I truly believe that Christmas music transcends genres. As such, the Christmas playlist is back! If more songs aren't added to the playlist, you will be listening to Amy Grant's 1983 glam-synth-pop masterpiece A Christmas Album on repeat. This is the best Christmas album ever written, and I will die on this hill. You have been warned! Find the playlist here.
As usual we will combine the S.A.G.A. AGM with the Christmas party, which will include a rundown of the year, a quick financial report and the reveal of the geocache of the year! The meeting will take 15-20 minutes, right after the supper.
Whether you want to join just for the supper, quickly drop in to say hello, or want to stay for the entire event - we're looking forward to seeing everyone! Depending on the number of attendees, the event might wrap up earlier than 5:00pm. We would appreciate it if you log whether you intend to attend or not.
As at every gathering, feel free to bring your trackables to share, and please spread the word to other cachers who may not check the new cache postings.
We could use help with setting up tables beforehand as well as clean up afterward. If you can help please let us know. We appreciate it. Thanks!
**Please note that the Church has an elevator so that the basement is accessible to everyone.**
