Plan on Joining Us! 2025 GIFF Event in HoCo
(NOTE: This event has been approved by Geocaching HQ as a formal GIFF Event)
It's that time of year again - the Geocaching International Film Festival (GIFF) is here! For those who are new to this event, GIFF is a global event where geocachers create and share short films about geocaching. It's a way to celebrate the sport and showcase the creativity of the geocaching community. From November 6-16 geocachers will host events (like this one) in which the finalists of these films will be shown publicly.
The theme of this year's GIFF is "TFTC-----Thanks For The Community!" This theme was selected because the geocaching community is "celebrating 25 years of geocaching while also celebrating the amazing community that has built this game for a quarter century."
For those in the area interested in seeing this year's slate of films, this event is your chance. Location and other event details are below.
Date, Time, and Location
Date & Time: November 13, 2025. Doors open at 6:15PM. The film reel rolls at 6:30PM and will last roughly an hour. After the films, help cleaning up would be appreciated to help clear the room and allow the wonderful library staff to leave for the evening.
Location: DaVinci Meeting Room in the Howard County Public Library Savage Branch. The address of the library is 9525 Durness Ln, Laurel, MD 20723 (these are also the posted coordinates). The Room we will be in is located at the end of the HiTech wing inside the library.

Refreshments
Attendees are encouraged to bring some snacks/refreshments to the event to share (hint: this Event being right after Halloween, it's a great time to get that half-price candy!). Drinks are also permitted. Per library rules, no food needing any heating elements is permitted, nor is any alcohol permitted in the library.
Will Attends:
Please mark the number of people attending in your "Will Attend" log. Seating should not be an issue, but this would be helpful to the Event's host to know how to prepare.
A Few Final Notes:
This Event is being held at a branch of the Howard County Library, and the library has approved use of the room for this event. However, this is not an official Howard County Library System event. For any information or questions about the event, please use the "Message the Owner" icon at the top of this event page to send an email to the event host, and I will reply with the requested information.
