Enjoy the fresh air and scenery of Columbia Bottom Conservation Area while helping make the St. Louis community a better place by removing trash. Volunteering is a great way for scouts to earn badges, students to earn community service hours, and geocachers to show appreciation for the places they visit.
Dress appropriately for the current weather conditions. The Missouri Department of Conservation will provide water, trash grabbers, and bags. Some leather gloves will be available, but you may want to bring your own.
Columbia Bottom Conservation Area contains cropland, forest, wetlands, and old field habitats. There are hiking and biking trails, interpretive sites and a boat ramp to the Missouri River. The unique feature of this area is the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers.
Please note: The office building (former Visitor Center) is not open to the public. Pit toilets are available at the boat ramp (see additional waypoints), but there are none at the location of the CITO.
