This series of 30 high-terrain caches was placed during a maintenance and adventure run with ErnieTR, Benicha, AjCoco, and Madill. While we were in Sooke doing cache maintenance, we decided to keep going… and headed out toward Port Renfrew — hence the name:
HTPR: Heading to Port Renfrew!
We had a great time placing these caches and hope you’ll enjoy finding them just as much!
🔹 What to Expect
-
Terrain: High (varies from cache to cache)
The terrain rating reflects how high each cache was placed — some are higher than others.
-
Containers: Micros
All caches are micros hanging in trees, attached by a hanger loop or hook.
-
Difficulty: Varies
Some are easy to spot, others are well camouflaged.
⚠️ Important Notes
-
The real challenge is retrieving and replacing the cache without dropping it — take your time!
-
If the container is a rectangular tube, please be gentle when opening it. Lift the lid carefully and snap it back on securely before rehanging.
-
Always replace the cache exactly as found, at the same height and orientation.
🌲 Final Thoughts
This series is all about height, care, and a bit of finesse. Bring the right equipment, cache responsibly, and enjoy the adventure.
Happy caching — and welcome to HTPR: Heading to Port Renfrew! 🎯🌲
