Happy Halloween!
Congratulations to bigjim60 for the FTF!
This is a short, family friendly Halloween themed night cache! Park near the indicated Parking Waypoint and start down the Green Circle Trail. You will come up to a side trail that goes off to the left - by a GCT sign post.
You will see THREE WHITE trail tacks that mark the start of the side trail.
Go down the side trail - (not the GCT)! - watching for additional white trail tacks on the right side,
Keep a watch out for trees marked with ORANGE tacks. You are looking for two trees -- each marked with two ORANGE tacks. When you have found that - look between them for the cache. You should see a clue as to where to look.
The trail is an easy walk and it is a short distance to GZ. The higher terrain rading is due to the area right at GZ. The ground is uneven and you need to watch your footing - but other than that there is nothing dangerous.
After you have found the cache, you can continue down the trail in the same direction of travel - which leads back out to the parking lot.
The cache is loaded up with Halloween trinkets for the kiddos - but beware!!! The container is haunted! Be sure to close it back up and hide it well so the creatures inside don't escape! Muhahahahahhahahahaha!!!
Note: If you don't feel comfortable wandering around in the dark - this cache can be done in the dusk / twilight hours. I did a dry run around 6 PM in mid October and it can be easily found with a good flashlight.
Iverson Park is open until 11 - but be aware that the Stevens Point Police department does patrol the area after dark, due to the inevitable teenagers in cars / trucks at night -- so it is probably best to not wait until 11 PM to go look for the cache.
