Il castello fu edificato in età normanna (sotto il dominio degli Altavilla) e poi ampliato/ricostruito verso il 1220 su volontà di Federico II. È chiamata “rocca invisibile” perché è costruita con la pietra locale dell’altura, mimetizzata nel paesaggio, per cui da lontano non è subito evidente. Era una struttura abbastanza articolata: due piani, con stanze adibite a stalla, depositi per fieno, magazzini, una cappella, ambienti abitativi, forno, cortile. Il cache si trova in cima alla rocca, utilizzate la foto come indizio. Evitate il sentiero in giorni di pioggia.

The castle was built in the Norman era (under the rule of the Hauteville family) and then expanded/rebuilt around 1220 at the behest of Frederick II. It is called the "invisible fortress" because it is constructed with local stone from the hill, blending seamlessly into the landscape, making it less obvious from afar. It was a fairly complex structure: two floors, with rooms used as stables, hay storage, warehouses, a chapel, living quarters, an oven, and a courtyard. The cache is located at the top of the fortress; use the photo as a clue. Avoid the trail on rainy days.
