Prepare yourselves, geocachers, for a devilishly difficult series of Challenge Caches designed to test your skills and perseverance!

This series, 'The Devil's Dozen', celebrates the 'The Tassie Event', being held in Sorell, Tasmania on 7-8 March 2026.

To conquer 'The Devil's Dozen', you'll need to successfully meet the requirements of thirteen unique and demanding challenges. Will you earn the right to sign the logs and claim these sought-after finds? Get caching, check your stats, and prepare to face the devil!

Challenge #1: A Century of Sorell Smiles

This is a challenge cache, and the physical cache is at the posted coordinates.

Are you ready to discover the heart of the South East? From the historic streets of the Sorell township to the scenic vistas of Orielton and the rural charm of the backroads, there are smiles to be found everywhere!

To claim a find on this opening stage of the Devil's Dozen, you must prove that you are well-acquainted with the diverse caching landscape of the Sorell Municipality. We are celebrating the cachers who have taken the time to explore every corner of this vibrant local area.

The Challenge:

To qualify for this challenge, you must have found at least 100 geocaches within the Sorell Municipality (LGA).

• Sorell Specialist: Whether you're finding quick park-and-grabs in the town center, investigating the historical markers, or exploring the trails near Orielton Lagoon, any cache within the Sorell LGA boundaries counts!

• Starting Strong: As Challenge #1 in the series, this milestone proves you have a solid foundation and have spent significant time uncovering the treasures of the local Sorell region.

To claim a find you must meet the requirements of the Challenge:

• If you sign the logbook and meet the requirements, log a 'Found It' log.

• If you sign the logbook and do NOT meet the requirements, log a 'Write Note' and change this to a 'Found It' once you quality for the challenge.
