Geocache Description:

This is a multi that requires two different TOTTs. The first is a device to read an NFC tag. I would suggest a cell phone. The second is a device to extend the reach of the average human. Climbing the tree is out unless you're a squirrel.

The first stage is big compared to it's contents. The NFC tag is inside the peanut jar with a foot of paracord attached to make it harder to loose when the wind starts to blow. The final is, you guessed it, in a ponderosa pine.

Stage one is a Near Field Communications tag. You will need a phone capable of reading NFC tags. I use a Galaxy A13 and it works. In case there is any question, one of the TOTTs you'll need is a phone that can read an NFC tag. My Garmin GPSMAP64 would NOT read the NFC tag.

Here is the procedure. Step ONE, go to settings and turn ON or ENABLE NFC. It is probably in the CONNECTIONS menu. Step TWO, bring the tag into contact with your phone. It will probably work best on the back of the phone by the camera lens. You may have to move the NFC tag around a bit to find the sweet spot. Step THREE, your phone should "ding" when it reads the tag and display the information. I didn't need a special app to read the tag, it just appeared. However, your phone may require an app. Since I'm not a cell phone expert, I will not categorically state that an app is or is not required.
