Penguin Island is a 12.5-hectare (31-acre) island off the coast near Perth, approximately 660 metres from Shoalwater. It was found to be home to a colony of 120 Little penguins in 2024.
Since 2007, the island has experienced a 92 percent decline in penguin numbers, from a peak of 1,600 that year.
The waters surrounding the island make up the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park. Additionally, the island is also protected by the Penguin Island Conservation Park, which was established in 1918 and has a size of 11 hectares (27 acres).
There is no physical container on the island, and this wherigo requires you to stick to designated public access areas. No need to go bush.
The wherigo will take you for a walk around the island, and too the two main lookouts.
Once you have completed, the wherigo cartidge will reveal the coordinates for the hide on the main land.
