Meet between 1-1:30 pm at the posted coordinates. At 1:30, those who wish can go for a bike ride south along the Cross-Kirkland Connector aka Eastrail.
The 68th in a series of events along the many mostly flat, mostly paved biking/walking trails in the Seattle area. Per geocaching.com event guidelines, the actual 'event' is the meet-up from 1-1:30 at the posted coordinates, which are next to a parking area for the Cross-Kirkland Connector (near the truck-eating bridge, so be careful if you plan on driving to the event with a bike on top of your vehicle).
This event is outdoors, but I will only cancel this event if the weather is terrible: heavy rain, lightning/thunder, snow or ice. Bring a waterproof layer if it might rain, and enough layers/gloves/etc to ward off the cold.
Information for the ride:
We will be riding south toward a relatively new section of Eastrail, including the section by a couple of Bellevue Link Light Rail Stations, as well as the Kirkland-Bellevue connecting trail. It's around 5 miles from here to where the separated trail currently ends east of downtown Bellevue. The trail is a mixture of packed gravel and pavement. Please show up well before 1:30 so we can leave on time. Check your brakes and air beforehand if you will be biking.
Participants in the optional bicycle ride hold harmless the cache owner/event organizer and assume all risks and responsibilties involved in riding a bicycle on trails and streets. Wear a helmet, dress in layers, and bring a spare tube.
