I have been enjoying the Photographic Tour of the Olympic Penninsula (PTOP) series, and asked antlerridgeroad and malaika54 for permission to create a few of my own. I will be using my own photos from some of the wonderful trips I have taken in the Olympic Mountains. This photo was taken in the Fairchild basin on the way to the remote Bailely Mountain range near Mount Olympus. To get to this site you cross what is known as the Catwalk, summit Mt. Carrie, and then descend on the Farichild glacier into this beautiful open basin. In July you can see acres of wild flowers and clear flowing streams.
