Nelsons Old Riverton Store
Formally known as Eisler Bros Old Riverton Store. It was built by Leo Williams, owner, in 1925. Over the years it changed a few names and families. Joe and Isabell Eisler of Allen, Texas, purchased the business in 1973. It has continued to operate as a grocery and deli, just as it had, with very little changes in it's decor. The store was managed by Scott Nelson, their nephew, for years. Scott purchased the store March 31, 2011 from the estate of the Eisler's.
I grew up visiting this store since and even had the pleasure of working there for several years along with my mother and sister as well. This store has very many route 66 visitors throughout the year, a great many of them from around the world as well. Stop by for a visit and check out the gift shop. There is also a lot of memorabilia and history around the store so look around.
