綾瀬水門は荒川から綾瀬川への逆流防止のために設置された水門です。
「国土交通省綾瀬排水機場」及び「綾瀬排水機場樋管」の場所が旧綾瀬川の流路です。また、その下流には、舟運の確保のため綾瀬水門が1922年に建設されました。荒川の増水時には水門を閉鎖して、綾瀬川への逆流を防いでいます。綾瀬川の綾瀬水門から荒川に入り、荒川を斜めに横切り、隅田水門から旧綾瀬川に入って隅田川へという分断前の綾瀬川の舟運ルートは確保されています。アニメ『SSSS.DYNAZENON (ダイナゼノン)』に登場する水門としてファンの間では有名です。
The Ayase Water Gate is a floodgate installed to prevent backflow from the Arakawa River into the Ayase River.
The locations of the “Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Ayase Drainage Pumping Station” and the “Ayase Drainage Pumping Station Culvert” are on the former course of the Ayase River. Furthermore, downstream from these, the Ayase Water Gate was constructed in 1922 to ensure water transport. During high water in the Arakawa River, the floodgate is closed to prevent backflow into the Ayase River. The pre-division water transport route of the Ayase River—entering the Arakawa River from the Ayase Floodgate, crossing the Arakawa diagonally, then entering the former Ayase River via the Sumida Floodgate and proceeding to the Sumida River—is maintained. It is famous among fans as the floodgate featured in the anime ‘SSSS.DYNAZENON’.
