Geocache Description:

👽 Close Encounters of the Cache Kind:

ET Highway Stargazing Event! 🛸

You're invited to a cosmic convergence on the legendary Extraterrestrial Highway (NV-375) for a night of high-stakes geocaching, low-light antics, and maybe—just maybe—an actual close encounter.

The Mission Briefing

  • When: Wednesday, November 26, 2025. 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM (or until the little green men tell us to go home).

  • Where: A designated pull-off on the ET Highway near Rachel, NV.

  • What: A casual geocaching meet-up under some of the darkest, most alien-friendly skies in America. We’ll log our finds, swap war stories, and gaze up at the vastness of space.

Why You Should Beam Down

The ET Highway is famous for two things: zero traffic and zero light pollution. This means we get the celestial show of a lifetime!

  • Stargazing: Bring binoculars, or just your naked, earthling eyes. We'll be looking for the Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy, the Orion Nebula, constellations, and definitely the blinking lights of Area 51 (from a very, very safe, non-trespassing distance, naturally).

  • Meet & Greet: Come trade your favorite "I'm not saying it was aliens, but..." geocaching stories.

  • UFO Watch: We can't guarantee a sighting, but we can guarantee we'll all be looking up and making weird clicking noises just in case a classic flying saucer decides to drop by for a Trackable exchange. If you do see a streaking light, assume it’s a highly advanced alien craft and not just a very confused drone.

Important Declassified Intel

  1. Bring It All: This is the desert! Bring water, snacks (aliens love chips, apparently), and warm layers. The desert gets cold when the sun is abducted.

  2. Light Discipline: We'll be stargazing, so please bring a red-light flashlight to protect everyone's night vision. White lights are strictly reserved for signaling passing spacecraft.

  3. Parking: There's plenty of pull-off space, but please park responsibly and don't block the highway... you never know when the motorcade for the Galaxy Council might need to pass.

  4. The Cache: Logging this event is proof you survived the night without being probed.

Come join us! It's going to be out of this world!

(We apologize in advance if the only "ET" we see is a particularly grumpy desert tortoise.)
