Geocache Description:

This two stage multi-cache will help "train" you on solving this type of cache. Stage 1 will take you to Ross Park, where you're looking for some train history. The Oregon Short Line Railroad was founded in 1881, and traveled from Wyoming to Oregon, including a stop in Pocatello.  You're looking for the OSL train car. You'll now see a recently painted box car that once had "Oregon Short Line" and a car number on the side. To find this once obvious number on the side of the train car, refer to the "OSL pre-painting" uploaded image. There you will find a number, ABCD. Keep this number, it might come in handy later.

Now, it is time for a little math. The final (stage 2) coordinates are located at N 42° 50.(601-20B)′ W 112° 25.(517-4C2)′. (Checksum for North decimals is 16 and West decimals is 8.)

With these coordinates in hand, you can walk, bike, or drive over to the second parking coordinates at the AMI/Kirkham Trail. The final is located off of the AMI/Kirkham Trail.

When you get to the container at the final coordinates you will find the geocache inside. On the geocache, there is an NFC tag that will ping the combination to the padlock to your phone. Enable NFC on your phone, open an appropriate app, and hold your phone on the black sticker on the container. Most modern phones should show the combo shortly. If the NFC tag isn't working for you, you're in luck. Just use the OSL number you found at Stage 1. :)
