Mountain Goats were introduced into the Olympic Mountains back in the 1920s and quickly adapted and flourished. At one point it was estimated that over 1000 goats were in the park. They were removed within the last decade because it was felt that they were harming the isolated environment. This picture was taken near Hurrican Ridge a few years before the removal and relocation of the goats to the Cascade and other mountain ranges.
